The Lives and Art of Edward and Jo Hopper

Walls and Windows explores the art and life stories of Edward and Joe Hopper with six actors, projections and puppetry.  What makes Edward Hopper's paintings so compelling?  Why are we drawn to them?

(Music, Book and Lyrics by Dan Furman, with additional lyrics by Kristin Maloney.)

This new musical will be preceded by a short musical setting of Ernest Hemingway's "The Killers,"

Brooklyn Tavern Theater Gala Fundraiser

Sunday, August 25th, 7pm

Brooklyn Art Haus

24 Marcy Ave, Brooklyn, NY

Join us for an evening of festivities celebrating 4 years of Brooklyn Tavern Theater.  As part of launching into our 2024 season and raising funds for 2025, we will have food, drink and some previews of the world premiere of "Walls and Windows," as well as guest appearances and songs from actors and singers who have graced our stages over the last six productions.

Impossible But True

For our second show in 2024, we will be bringing back this autumnal musical about revolution, dreams, and what is possible.  The audience becomes part of the story's tavern community (Revolutionary-style "flip" will be available for those who want to drink along with the cast!) Loosely based on Washington Irving's "Rip Van Winkle," this story explores what happens when the American Revolution arrives in a small town in the Catskills.

(Book, Lyrics and Music by Dan Furman, with additional lyrics by Mary-Liz McNamara.)
